Course Content

This course delves into the intersection of sustainability, entrepreneurship, and innovation, focusing on how these elements can be leveraged to create both social and sustainable value. It integrates ecological, social, and economic perspectives, guiding students to develop solutions that address the complex challenges of sustainability. By examining innovative business models, sustainability-driven strategies, and ethical leadership, students will acquire the skills needed to become effective change-makers in today’s rapidly evolving global landscape.

Intended Learning Outcomes and Competencies

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

 

• Identify and analyze key social and environmental challenges and design entrepreneurial solutions to address them.

 

• Design innovative business models that align with the principles of sustainability and the circular economy.

 

• Evaluate the scalability and impact of social & sustainable businesses.

 

• Integrate AI and other advanced technologies to create sustainable innovation strategies.

 

• Develop ethical leadership practices and prioritize entrepreneurial well-being in pursuit of social and sustainable goals.

 

Instruction Type

In-class lectures.

Form of Examination

Group Cases (30%): Students will work in groups to analyze and present three case studies throughout the course. Each case study will contribute 10% to the final grade.

 

Individual Assignment (60%): This is the most significant component of the course, where students will individually develop a project that applies one tool learned in class in greater detail.

 

Class Participation (10%): Active participation in class discussions is crucial. Students will be evaluated on their contributions to discussions, engagement in moodle activities, and the ability to critically engage with course material and peers.
